Clitocybe houghtonii (Berk. & Br.) Dennis Rosa Trichterling. syn. Omphalia roseotincta Pearson Cap 2–8cm across, initially convex becoming flattened and often deeply depressed at the centre, pale pinkish-buff when fresh drying almost white. Stem 30–80 x 3–8mm, concolorous with cap, often developing an apical ring-like swelling as the fungus dries. Flesh thin, white. Smell sweetish, reminiscent of crushed tomato leaves. Gills crowded, decurrent, pinkish-cream. Spore print white. Spores elliptic, nonamyloid, 5–6.5 x 3–4m. Habitat gregarious in beech litter. Season late summer to late autumn. Rare. Edibility unknown -avoid. Found In Europe. |
